Learn to Quilt - The Weekend Edition - September 28 and 29

Due to popular demand, we've design our Learn to Quilt class in a new format that gets you quilting faster with a smaller time commitment!

Spend a weekend learning to quilt and go home with a completed Friendship Table Runner and the skills to start your own projects.

The class includes everything that you will need - Fabric (quilt top, batting, backing and binding), Pattern, MSQC Binding Tool as well as the use of rulers, rotary cutters and cutting mats. All that you need to bring is your sewing machine, a walking foot and a basic sewing kit.

Day One

Lesson 1 -Reading a Pattern, Intro to Colour Theory, Quilting Tools and How to Use Them, Choosing Your Fabric

Lesson 2 - Basic Cutting Skills, How to Use a Quilting Ruler and Rotary Cutter

Lesson3 - Machine Piecing,Thread-ucation, Needle Knowledge

Day Two

Lesson 4 - Making a Quilt Sandwich, Types of Batting, Machine Quilting

Lesson 5 - More Machine Quilting!

Lesson 6 - Finishing a Quilt, Binding Styles, Tips and Tricks

Course fee includes the pattern, acrylic template and all fabrics needed to complete the project.

The Friendship Table Runner is a fun project and is the perfect way to try quilting without committing the time and money to a full size quilt project.

You will need a sewing machine in good working order for this class. For lessons 4 and 5, you will also require a walking foot for your machine. We can help you source a walking foot if you require help.
